A classic slot with 3 reels and 15 paylines that lacks sparkles.
Does the Diamond Empire slot live up to its name? It this a fantastic gem? Hint: if you don’t want to read the rest of this review, the answer is no.
The theme of this Diamond Empire classic slot is not really that brilliant. It is just something that has been slapped together by Microgaming in a bid to get some more slot games out there and, ultimately, makes them some cash.
As with many Microgaming slots over the years, many of them are just terribly themed.
This game is bland looking. This is not our biggest concern with the slot, though. It is the fact that the gameplay is bland too.
Yes, there are several features and we will come onto them soon, but just to give you an indication of how little action happens; this Diamond Empire slot is a high variance 3-reel slot with 15 pay lines and a single feature.
You would probably get a better return on your money if you invested in the Zimbabwean Dollar, and it would be a whole lot more interesting too (bear in mind we know nothing about investment, so this isn’t a tip, just a sarcastic comment).
What baffles us is that Diamond Empire does not really have an excuse to be this boring and this money hungry. Out in 2018, yet it feels like it was made back in 1998 – nothing like the fresh new classic 3 reelers like Sea Hunter slot or Ivanhoe by Elk Gaming.
Microgaming can put out good games, and they obviously know what people are playing, so why not make a game for them?
We can’t imagine that there are many out there who are making a beeline for this Diamond Empire slot. It just brings nothing new to the table.
Yep. There is. However, it is just as bland as the rest of the game.
You get 3 bonus symbols and a wheel of fortune pops up. Spin it and you will get some money back. the maximum is 888x your current bet, but you are likely to hit the far more conservative 8x your bet as an average.
There is some excitement in the base game as the wilds can come stacked 2 high. They come with a 2x multiplier attached to them too. If you get 2 wilds on a pay line, that is a 4x multiplier.
It may sound brilliant and all, but the wilds pop up so infrequently and form so few of the winning combinations, that you may as well forget that they exist.
We would have loved if this Diamond Empire slot if the wilds gave us some cash on occasion, but we can barely remember more than one or two wins where we got anything decent from having a wild there.
That said, we’d be negligent in our Diamond Empire slot review if we didn’t mention that there are huge wins here, wins of over 7,000 times your bet if you line up those wilds and multipliers.
That gives this a one star in the slot review guide. One lonely star.
But any excitement that you do get from those wilds is about the same as you’d get searching up the current Canadian Dollar to Zimbabwean Dollar exchange rate shortly after.
In short, it feels more like hard work than actual fun.
Probably the best betting strategy for Diamond Empire is to hit that back button and find another game at the online casino that you have selected.
If you absolutely must play, then try to keep your bets as low as you possibly can and increase only IF you get a big win. Don’t give this Microgaming video slot more than about 50 spins.
We have pounded on this Diamond Empire slot really hard in this review, so obviously we do not recommend it.
If you want to play a classic slot with actual features which can lead to some wins, then you have plenty more options on the market. We can think of very few circumstances when you give an online casino money to play this game.
